Monday, October 10th, the National Day, is the 111th birthday of the Republic of China (ROC), the birthday of the nation, a day to be celebrated by all, and I believe that many people must have chosen to stay in front of their television sets to watch the lively celebrations in front of the Presidential Palace.
Tuesday morning when we gathered to ask the children to raise their hands if they had watched TV programs on the National Day, more than half of them did, and then asked what they had seen. Some said they saw airplanes, some said the street dance was great, and some said the band performed .....
This year's National Day parade in front of the Presidential Palace a series of performances is very special, it can be seen that the organizers of the heart, in addition to the performance of the three armed forces, such as the performance of the most eye-catching is the Japanese Kyoto Tangerine High School wonderful performance, the students run, jump and blow, but also able to change formations, memorize the score to remember the position, the use of hands and feet, the mind clear, even if sweaty, but still show a bright smile, exudes an incomparable youthfulness, it is really shocking! The performance was a subversion of the traditional and stereotypical way of performing, and the North One Women's Ceremonial Team also took part in the performance. With their neat and tidy movements, it was obvious that the students of both Orange High School and the North One Women's Ceremonial Team had spent a lot of time practicing in order to present an excellent performance on that day.
President Tsai's speech was also very moving. The President hoped that we would give our future generations a better country and the world a better Taiwan, and that we would see the value of Taiwan's existence to the world, that Taiwan is very democratic and free, that it is culturally diverse, free and open, and that it will make Taiwan the Taiwan of the world. In recent years, Taiwan's society has become more and more diversified, and there are many ethnic groups with different backgrounds in this part of the country, including new aborigines from Southeast Asia. The government has promoted Mother Tongue Day and Mother Tongue Teaching, and has added the languages of many of the new aborigines one after another.
Some people may say, "Oh, there is no need to teach mother tongue or NRI in the future, why don't you just learn American?" In fact, such a concept is confusing mother tongue with a foreign language, and the mother tongue that we occasionally come across in school is certainly not a language that can be learned within a short period of time, let alone for memorization or examination purposes.
The purpose of exposing children to different mother tongues is to let them know that not all people have the same background, and that there are many different countries and language groups in the world, and that there is no superiority or inferiority, but only diversity and mutual respect, and that by exposing children to their own mother tongues, those who are interested will naturally learn to understand them in greater depth in the future.
Next Wednesday is the dental fluoride day, once every six months, we invite the team of Dr. Lu and Dr. Lin from MCCC Dental Clinic to come to the school to serve the children. Some children who have already had their teeth fluoridated will have an oral exam instead. Whether it's a fluoride application or an oral exam, remember to bring your health insurance card the day before.
On Thursday, Canaan University pharmacy students, led by teachers, will come to the park to promote the proper use of medication. With the theme of Teddy Bear Pharmacy, the students will guide the children through drama performances, barrier games, and the process of going to the doctor and receiving medication. We are looking forward to the program.
Have a nice holiday, peace and health.
Mandy
