School's in session! Beware of Enterovirus

The nine-day Spring Festival holiday allows busy workers to have a long vacation, meet with friends and family - reunions, New Year's greetings, trips, spring walks, playing waste, and enjoying a rare vacation with ease. At the end of the holiday, everyone adjusted their inner mood and work schedule, and returned to work.

This year's winter was particularly cold, and many of the warm clothes that had been put away in the corners of the closet came out one after another, but even so they were unable to withstand the cold weather. The cold, coupled with the influenza, and due to the clustering of the flu, the weaker, older and younger people are susceptible to the infection.

Besides influenza, enteroviruses are the most common epidemics in young children. Enteroviruses like warm environments and usually occur in summer and early fall; however, because Taiwan is located in the tropical and subtropical zones, infections or clusters of cases can occur throughout the year, with the peak season occurring from April to September each year. Despite the cold weather, there are still a lot of children with enterovirus, perhaps because of the cold weather and forgetting to wash their hands with soap, which should be the main reason.

We all know that hand washing is important, but we often forget to do it because we have not yet developed the habit. Ask your child, "It is important to wash your hands, but when should you wash your hands? There are seven times: before eating, after going to the toilet, before holding the baby, after playing games, after going home, before and after going to the doctor, and after blowing your nose. Some children can't tell you all of these times, but everyone knows before eating and after going to the bathroom. It's one thing to know, but it's important to know whether you can actually do it.

In addition, the hygiene and ventilation of the home environment should not be overlooked. As far as the kindergarten environment is concerned, classrooms and dormitories are wiped and disinfected on a regular basis every day; outside vendors are commissioned to come to the kindergarten twice a semester to disinfect the classrooms; bedding and toiletries are brought home for cleaning and exposure on Fridays; and germicidal lamps are added to the classrooms and dormitories, etc., all of which are designed to provide the children with a relatively safe and hygienic environment.

Parental cooperation needed to block enterovirus transmission

There are good equipment and measures, and even more need the cooperation of parents to be effective, in addition to kindergartens, the home should also be regularly disinfected, the government recommends the use of bleach, dilute about 1 liter of water with 10 cc of bleach, in order to "wipe" for disinfection, as long as children's hands will be in contact with the or activities of the area, toys, blocks, dolls and so on, it is best to be regularly disinfected.

The government has strict criteria for suspending classes for enterovirus. To protect the health of children and the normal routine of all parents, please make sure you do so to ensure the health of your babies.

February 3 (a) the second semester began, thanks to the support, love and cooperation of parents, the new semester, the children continue to be in the garden of Renhe, parents and teachers work together to accompany the baby to walk in the road of learning and growth, active in the bright sunshine, to create a healthy body, mind and soul, to build good character and good habits.

Have a nice holiday. Peace and happiness.
