Parenting] The Value of a Blessing

That year, I was wandering the streets of the United States. On Christmas Day, I stood under the tree across from a fast food restaurant for an afternoon and smoked two whole packs of cigarettes. There weren't many people on the street, and the fast-food restaurant wasn't as busy as usual. I finished my last cigarette and sighed as I looked at all the cigarette butts on the ground. As the sky darkened, the streetlights opened their eyes slightly, and the dim light bothered me, just like my own bleak future, which was sad. My hands were in my pants pockets, and the contents of my pockets excited me.

I squeezed a smile out of the corner of my mouth, crossed my chest with my left hand, and stared at the fast-food restaurant that was about to close. Just as I took my first step toward the fast food restaurant across the street, a little girl stepped out from the next block with curly hair, red cheeks, and an innocent, happy smile on her face. She was holding a Barbie doll in her hand, jumping towards me, I was a bit surprised, I stopped my steps, the little girl tilted her head and smiled deeply at me, and said sweetly: "Uncle, Merry Christmas! I was stunned, everyone had forgotten about me all these years, no one had ever remembered to send me a Christmas wish. "Hello, Merry Christmas!" I said with a smile. I said with a smile.

"Will you give my child a present?" The little girl pointed to the doll in her hand. "Yes, but ..... I don't have anything." I was embarrassed, I had nothing on me except for the stuff in my pants pocket that I couldn't give to anyone else.

"You can give her a kiss!" I kissed her doll and left a deep kiss on the little girl's face. The little girl looked very happy and said to me, "Thank you, uncle, tomorrow will be better, see you tomorrow! I watched the beautiful little girl singing away and said to her back, "Yes, tomorrow will be better, tomorrow will be better for sure! I left that place.

Today, five years later, I have a warm home, a gentle and kind wife, and lively and healthy children.

I teach English at a university in China, where teachers and students respect me because I am competent and confident.

It was Christmas again, the tree was full of "stars", the kids were building blocks, my wife brought the turkey, and before the meal, I closed my eyes and prayed silently.

After praying, my wife asked me what I was thanking God for.

I said to her quietly that I was thanking God for sending me an angel - a little girl who had changed my life. I said to my wife, "You know I was in jail." "But that's in the past." My wife looked at me with love in her eyes.

"Yes, that's in the past, but when I got out of jail, my life was over, I couldn't get a job, and no one wanted to work with someone who had committed a crime."

Even my old friends didn't trust me anymore, they avoided me, no one gave me any comfort or help," I recalled sadly.

I started to lose hope in life, I was crazy to take revenge on this cold society; it was Christmas, I had a gun ready in my pants pocket, and I was looking for an opportunity to go across the street from a fast-food restaurant and take all the money in the restaurant. My wife's eyes widened, "Jay, you're crazy."

"I was crazy, I thought for an afternoon that the most I could do was to be taken in and put in jail again, where I would be like everybody else, where everybody would be equal."

"What happened?" my wife asked nervously, and then I told her the story, "The little girl's blessing warmed me, and no one has ever blessed me as warmly as she has since I got out of prison." I was moved, "Honey, do you know what changed my destiny?" My wife stared into my eyes. "My wife stared into my eyes and said, "The little girl said to me, 'Tomorrow will be better,' and I thank her for telling me that life goes on and that tomorrow will be better. From then on, in times of hardship and helplessness, I would always tell myself, 'Tomorrow will be better. I no longer had low self-esteem, I was confident, and then I met your father, who suggested I become a teacher, and you know the rest.

It was a blessing from that little girl that changed my life. My wife looked at me fondly, put her hand on her chest, and said emotionally, "Let's thank her and bless her with happiness." Once again, I pressed my hand to my chest.

The value of a blessing cannot be measured in money, it may change a person's life and the fate of many people. Therefore, we should not be stingy with our blessings, even if it is just to a stranger, maybe the blessings you and I send unintentionally will bring him a lifetime of warmth and happiness.
