"Parenting - Creative ideas that don't cost a fortune - by Keling

After kindergarten, my four-year-old daughter stayed outside the classroom to play house with some children. I was chatting with the other parents when I overheard the little brats talking to each other. A five-year-old boy, holding a red sports car in his hand, said to the other children in a childish voice, "My family is rich, I have a million dollars! Another boy, not to be outdone, says, "My family is very, very big! He also made exaggerated hand gestures. Unexpectedly, my daughter, who was baking a fake cake, suddenly interjected, "My house is very clean and tidy. Do you want to come to my house to play? When I heard my daughter's answer, I was shocked, and a warm current suddenly appeared in my heart.

As I am a working woman, I have a busy schedule during the day and I have to attend classes in the evening, so my time for housekeeping is very limited and I often feel guilty because I seldom manage to keep my home in order. Recently, due to my job transfer, I have more flexibility in my time and I am determined to tidy up my home which has been "deserted" for a long time. Apart from cleanliness, I wanted to be more creative, but due to financial constraints, I had to do it without spending any money. So, I thought of some surprises for my family. I moved the small bookcase that I had assembled in the past to the bedside, and put my daughter's favorite picture books that she likes to read before bedtime into neat rows according to their height and color; and because I was afraid that the edges of the assembled bookcase would be too sharp, I used foam to paste them on the edges of the bookcase. I didn't expect that the thick, bright yellow foam would give the cabinet a strange edging effect and add a bit of fairy tale flavor.

I rolled all the quilts in the house, big and small, long and short, and made them look like cookies. Since each quilt is of different colors and lengths, the effect of the rolled quilts is very good, just like the egg rolls and ice creams displayed in the cake display cabinet, which looks very colorful and interesting. My daughter's favorite dolls, such as the little lion, the monkey brother, and the bunny rabbit, were arranged in different rows, and they became the tourists who browsed and tasted these delicious snacks.

After finishing up, I waited for my daughter's reaction when she came home. As soon as my daughter entered the room, she was so happy that she squealed and jumped around, saying, "This is great, it's like a new home, this is my favorite! My daughter also named the quilts of different colors and materials as "Soft Strawberry Egg Rolls" and the goose-yellow quilt as "Gold Pudding Cake", and she was very funny when she was naming the quilts as well as hawking.

As a mom, I was of course pleased with my daughter's happy reaction, but I just took it as a casual compliment from her sweet mouth. I didn't expect my daughter to openly "praise" and "invite" her playmates in a serious manner, which made me realize that my daughter genuinely loved the results of her mother's efforts to reorganize the house.

I think parents will always regret that they can't give their children a bigger, more spacious and more comfortable living space, but children may not care so much; a clean, fresh and fun home may be better than a beautiful summer house.

After hearing my daughter's heartfelt confession, I was touched and smiled back, and my daughter also looked up at me with an innocent smile as if she felt something.

Thank you to this little connoisseur for appreciating her mom's creativity and love without spending a fortune.
