Message from the Director

Last Saturday, the Hami Melon children participated in a performance at the Family Education Center. Parents said that the Renhe children's performance was "awesome" and very special. The children of the Linglong Radio Station spoke in Taiwanese, which was very childish, and the flute playing, with its relaxing and lively tunes, was great! It was really nice to hear.

Going out to perform is always a tough job. Firstly, it requires the help and willingness of the teachers, and then the cooperation of the children and parents to make it a success. Whenever we receive an invitation to perform, we will always think twice about the purpose, time, place, etc. of the event. Does the class have a program to perform? Which class will be represented? Will the parents be cooperative? These are the key decisions.

In order to let the children have the opportunity to perform on stage, a five or six-minute program, the preparatory work beforehand is really a lot of work, to have an idea, followed by the selection of music, the design of the repertoire, staff training, costumes, props, etc., although, but it is not difficult to Yanhe's teachers, the accumulation of many years of experience in teaching, coupled with the persistence of the work of early childhood education, commitment and professionalism; the teaching of the heart and serious, and then again, are all Their dedication and seriousness in teaching are praiseworthy.

Speaking of special performances, this week we taught a song called "You are special", the lyrics of which read: "You are special, no matter how people look at your face; You are special, God loves the world no differently; You are special, confident flowers bloom in your heart; as long as you believe that God has made us, you are special". The lyrics of the song were recited three times, together with the melody, and after a few rounds of singing, the children were able to catch the words very quickly, especially in the older classes. Then we asked the children to change all the words from "you" to "I", and then asked them to perform the actions. Yun-Hsuan, Nancy, and Pei-Yu generously shared their ideas, and on a show of hands, Yun-Hsuan's actions were the most recognized. With the song and the actions, the children sang the song with great joy, and the Apple children did not lose out to the older siblings, as most of them were able to sing the lyrics of the melody clearly.

By teaching the song "You are special" and the picture book that says "You are special", children will have a better understanding of what it means to be special. Ask the children, "What makes you special?". The children said confidently, "I can box jump, I can dance, I can draw, I can tell stories, I can help people...". That's right! Every person created by God has something unique, a gift from God, something unique and special that no one can replace, and a treasure in the hearts of their parents. It is very important to know where your abilities lie, to make good use of your gifts, and to do a good job of being yourself.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we have block observation and sharing sessions for children who are interested in this field. Originally, the program was only scheduled for the older and middle school classes, but the Apple and Baby teachers said the children wanted to try it out, so they opened it up for them to participate, with seven children in each class, most of them boys. The children brought their own building blocks and created their own artwork on the floor of the library. They were all very serious and dedicated, and when they finished their artwork one by one, Mandy asked, "What is this? When they finished their creations, Mandy asked, "What is it?" Even the baby's children could tell the name of their creations clearly, which was really amazing! Seeing the confident smiles on the children's faces made me feel very satisfied!

Peace and Happiness
