Message from the Director - Grateful Gate

"It's Thanksgiving, and Ed and Annie, an elderly couple, are home alone for the holiday, but the bad news is that Annie has burnt the Thanksgiving dinner. So the two of them go to a restaurant in town with a bad taste in their mouths. The restaurant is closed for the day, but somehow the door is open, allowing Annie and Ed to accidentally break in. The grandmother of the restaurant says, "The door to Thanksgiving is like the heart of a happy person, it should be wide open. Ed is not a dancer, but he had a great time dancing today. When they got home, the two old men, who were not in the best of moods, thought about what they were most thankful for today, and they both unanimously agreed that Anne had scorched the Thanksgiving dinner .............

Since November is Thanksgiving month, Ms. Chunyin shared the picture book "The Door of Thanksgiving" with the children during the morning story time on Thursday. On this theme, Mandy asked the children, "What is a door?

"It's the door to the house." "Where are the doors in the kindergarten?" "Classrooms, offices, health rooms, restrooms, dormitories, front doors, back doors..." "How many front doors are there? Can you describe them?" "One is bigger and one is smaller." What about the back door?" The child says, "One big, one small." "What's the difference between the front door and the back door?" One of the children gestured with his hand, and Mandy realized what he meant: "Is it rolled?" "The big one is an iron roll-up door." "Do you like the big door? Or the small one? ....." Then there was a lively discussion about the Thanksgiving Door.

"Is your door of gratitude a big door? Or is it a small door? "How many people, things, and things do you have to be thankful for?"

As long as we are thankful and pay attention, our lives are full of things to be thankful for: a bench in the park for people to rest, a car carrying travelers, a tree for people to shade and cool off, a person who serves us...and so on, in order to bring convenience to our lives.

"Mandy, this is my seaweed hand roll! The children ate their handmade rolls proudly and felt that they smelled good and tasted good. The bi-weekly Mixed-Age Learning Zone, which the children were looking forward to, allowed them to freely choose their learning zones, including cooking zone, clay zone, science zone, and arts and crafts cutting and pasting zone, each of which had large, medium, and small groups of children. Teachers had planned and prepared the learning zones with great attention to detail, so that the children could happily manipulate and learn in contextualized guidance. Mandy left a record of their learning and posted the picture on the website of Renhe's life and video links.

The children at Renhe are so happy! From Monday to Friday, every day is full of surprises, from head exercises, body movements to physical fitness training, creating a healthy body, mind and spirit, making the life of the babies full of joy.

There are so many things to be thankful for, and it's important for children to learn how to be thankful at a young age. You can be thankful every day, not just on Thanksgiving!

Peace and Happiness
