The semester is coming to an end on July 30th and the teachers are busy preparing for the Graduation Ceremony and Achievement Presentation to be held next Saturday, July 27th, as well as the post-study paper-based assessments and observation records.
In order to lay the foundation for children's health - "Good Physical Fitness" and "Good Intelligence", the physical fitness test is conducted every semester on Tuesday afternoons, which includes: one-legged stand on a stick (sense of balance), standing long jump (explosive power), 10-meter zigzag run (agility), 20-meter dash (sense of speed), seated forward bending (flexibility), and bent-knee crunch (abdominal muscular endurance).
Each level was explained in detail beforehand, and then sisters and one or two children were asked to demonstrate. The children listened attentively and proceeded seriously. Each level was carefully checked by the practicing sisters, and the teachers recorded the results on the cards. When the children in the older class got the cards, they would compare their own results with those of others. They had a good concept of numbers and thought that the bigger the number, the better. They didn't know that the smaller the number, the better they were in the 10-meter zigzag run or the 20-meter dash; in the sitting posture of bending forward, which tests flexibility, a lot of the children's bones were too hard, so they couldn't bend, and they scored zero; and in the bent-knee sit-ups, a lot of the children were very good, and they could complete more than 30 repetitions a minute. The score was zero.
Parent-child reading activities are promoted every semester and the results are checked on Thursday afternoons. Through the record book, we know whether the parents care about reading or not. The target for this semester is 35 books, and those who reach the target will receive a small gift as a reward. The babies brought their reading log books to the principal in order and the principal appreciated each log book and asked the children how many picture books they had read in total. He asked the children how many picture books they had read and with whom they had read them. Most of the children answered that it was their mothers, while a few said it was themselves; which one was their favorite? Who read it to you? Some of the books are very clean, filling in each item one by one; some don't even record the date of reading or the number of books, and the result is that more than 80% of the children have achieved this, and there are also more than 40 books. Each record book represents the child's personality, ability and parenting attitude.
Reading a story to a child is a sharing experience, and it is also a way to visualize the inner, private "thinking" of the child. When the child accepts the story, the parent-child relationship becomes a platform for interaction with a common knowledge. The goal is not to teach children to read, but to share the joy of reading and establish a reading habit. As the old saying goes, "There is a golden house in a book, and there is a face like jade in a book." Reading is a very important subject, and parents should not neglect it by using busyness as an excuse for not accompanying their children and letting them read on their own without paying attention to it, especially during the important pre-school stage.
Due to the Graduation Ceremony and Achievement Presentation to be held next Saturday, July 27th, teachers will bring the babies to the stage to practice before the performance from this week onwards, and we hope that they will have a good performance then.
Peace and Happiness
