A Word from the Headmaster - Storytelling Competition

One of the many highlights of the week was the Storytelling Competition. In order to build children's language skills, encourage them to speak up, train their courage, and identify their strengths, the Storytelling Contest is held every year. This year, the format has been changed and is divided into three phases: the preliminary round on April 9th, the final round on May 21st, and the final round on July 10th. The preliminary round is universal and every child is encouraged to participate. Half of the class participants will be selected to participate in the second stage in May.

Storytelling Skills

I. Preparing for Storytelling Choose books that can be read aloud. Make sure, as much as possible, that the stories and activities you choose to lead are appropriate for the audience (e.g., picture books with a small amount of text are best for 4-7 year olds, storybooks with a small number of chapters are more appropriate for 6-8 year olds, and 9-11 year olds should be allowed to explore their own favorite books). At the end of this post, we've also recommended a list of books for all ages.

Message from the Director - Storytelling

On Thursday morning, three members of the Taipei Flying Man Troupe came to the kindergarten to promote the troupe's upcoming puppet show "Dreams Under the Disappearing God's Tree" at the Tainan Municipal Culture Center's Primitive Theatre. As early as early January, the troupe and the kindergarten had already agreed on the promotional time of March 6 at 8:30 a.m. On March 3, the troupe called the kindergarten again to confirm the promotional time, and hoped that the kindergarten would provide a table, chairs, a stereo, white walls, and microphones, as well as a place that could be shaded from the light, and then told the kindergarten that they would have to provide them with a table, chair, stereo, white walls, and microphones.
