The Charm of Building Blocks

On April 18th, we held a sharing competition for block observation. Each class first held a preliminary competition and then sent representatives to participate in the competition. On that day, all the children who participated in the sharing competition brought their own blocks to the activity room. After everyone was ready, the principal announced the theme of the competition, which was the tamest AI robot at the moment. After listening to the announcement, the children immediately immersed themselves in the world of blocks, and quietly and seriously worked on the assembling of their own robot, and soon after, one by one, the robot was produced one after another!

Playing with natural materials to create shapes

Letting little children play shaping games is to let them feel the fun of combination and creation in the most fun way. However, in addition to preparing all kinds of shaping materials at home, mothers and fathers should not forget that when they go outdoors, there are more readily available natural materials for their children to enjoy playing! Leaves are wings, dead wood is a pony, stones can be turned into smiles or long trains, and observing and exploring nature allows children to appreciate the beauty of things and inspire creativity!

Dressing for Toddlers

The wheel of time keeps turning, and before we know it, it's the end of the year again. The weather in December and early winter is sometimes cold, sometimes hot, and there is a big difference in temperature between morning, noon and night. For office workers and students who go out early and come back late, they have to pay special attention to dress appropriately to protect themselves from the wind and cold, and not to get hot in the middle of the day. For children in kindergartens, most of their parents decide what to wear. The length, thickness and thickness of their clothes, especially when the climate changes, are many little unlucky people.

What is the beauty of a toddler?

Close your eyes and think about the moments in your life when you felt beautiful. When you were a child, what experiences of beauty did you have? Was it when you went to the beach and saw the magnificent ocean? Or when you were surprised by a creative toy? Or was it when your mom let you wear a beautiful dress? Or reading a beautiful poem that touched your heart? All of these things that adults see as commonplace are often the source of a child's sense of beauty!

A word from the head gardener - seven points to manage, three points to cut.

The flowers and plants in the campus were pruned and organized by the gardening masters' hands for a whole day, so that the plants and pots of flowers appeared more refreshing and vital, and the front garden, the lawn, and the back garden all looked more tidy and presented a different look. Last Saturday, I participated in the workshop "Roots of Aesthetics and Arts Education in Kindergartens" hosted by the Department of Teacher Education and Arts Education of the Ministry of Education and organized by Tainan University, and was personally lectured by the facilitator of the program, Dean Lin Mei-jun of the College of Fine Arts. Prof. Lin shared that the three major competencies of aesthetic education in kindergartens include "exploration and awareness," "expression and creation," and "response and appreciation," and that people usually focus more on expression and creation and neglect "exploration and awareness" and "response".

"Parenting": Enhancement of aesthetics is the key to competitiveness.

After reading Ms. Chen Zhihua's article (Merit Education in Finland), I felt very emotional. In 2008, she was interviewed by the Helsinki Daily News. The reporter asked her, "Why do Asians take art and music programs so lightly? Why do parents in your country tell their children that these programs are not important and that they are a waste of their children's time?" These questions really hit the nail on the head. We value math and science more than the Finns ever imagined; we value music and art less than the Finns ever imagined.
