Last Saturday night, we went to the Holiday Plaza of the Cultural Center to enjoy the presentation of the achievements of the dance class of Sun Yat-sen Junior High School. With the sky as the curtain, the ground as the seats, and professional sound and lighting set up, the audience was filled with parents and members of the public, and more than seventy students from three grades performed in a rich and diversified program, including folkloric dance, ballet, modern dance, folk dance, and so on....
The performance of the dancers was remarkable, and the team spirit was also demonstrated, which won the enthusiastic applause of the guests. It was really not easy for them to perform so well when they were only 13, 14 or 15 years old, and it also moved me; in addition to having a strong group of teachers, they must have put in a lot of effort in preparation, practice and rehearsal, and cultivated a tacit understanding with each other in order to have such a great result. This is a wonderful memory of their junior high school years.
Watching them perform on stage, I thought of my granddaughter in the United States. She is in the second grade of elementary school, and like her mother, she has been learning to dance since she was a child. She asked her mother to participate in a dance competition, and she set the goal of winning a prize; she participated in three consecutive dance competitions, and all of them went as planned, and while it may seem to be easy to win a prize, it is not so, but the process is quite hard; she has to spend two or three hours a day practicing, and her mother has to be there with her. Even though it was hard, the child didn't get tired even though her legs were bruised and she was sweating all over because it was her own choice and she took the initiative. Even though the parents were distressed and asked the child to reconsider, not necessarily to win the prize, but to participate, the child's attitude was firm and she didn't back down. After the competition, her mother asked: "You have worked hard, will you participate in the competition next year? To her surprise, the child said, "Of course I will, I have to challenge myself to make progress!
Active learning, if a person's attitude is positive and active, even if encountered setbacks, difficulties, can be solved, relatively if a person's attitude is passive passive, even if the opportunity to come, and ultimately will be slipped away from their own hands.
Give your child a stage, so that they can have another opportunity to express themselves in addition to playing and learning. In May and June of the second semester of each school year, we organize various sharing competitions, such as building block creation, storytelling in Chinese and English, and the "Learning Achievement Presentation" in mid-summer. This has always been one of our key philosophies and is a rare experience for the children.
When I came to the school on Monday, I routinely took the temperature of the children and checked their mouths, but the Swans found that some children had fever and throat abnormalities, so I immediately notified the parents to bring them to the hospital for checkups; after the lunch break, I checked them again, and there were some children who had fever again, which was really stressful because if more than two of them were infected with the enterovirus, the school would have to be suspended, and the suspension of the school would cause some trouble to the parents.
Therefore, parents are urged not to neglect the prevention of enterovirus by washing hands frequently, proper hand washing procedures, five times of hand washing, and good personal hygiene habits.
In order to prevent the occurrence of enterovirus, the kindergarten has changed the health unit's requirement of washing and drying the quilts once every two weeks to letting the children bring them back to be washed and exposed to the sun once a week. However, it was found that the percentage of parents who did not wash the quilts was very high, and in order to do so, the weekly report was put on the recent calendar, asking parents to make a note of it and to take responsibility for their own actions. In addition, teachers are required to dilute bleach every day, wipe down floors, tables, chairs, doors, and windows, and wash toys for exposure to the sun.
Because of the hot weather, oil and electricity double rise, Saturday and Sunday vacation, most parents choose to go out to public places, such as department stores, shopping malls, playgrounds, etc., play water, blowing air-conditioning, closed space, group gathering, if you do not pay attention to diligent hand-washing hygiene, is often the best way to spread germs, and therefore the proportion of illness on Mondays is on the high side, parents must pay attention to the children's health, can not be negligent, not lazy.
Good health, peace and happiness.
