Due to a strong northeasterly monsoon, the temperature dropped significantly on Wednesday, and fell to 15 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday morning. According to the weather report, the cold weather will continue until next week, when the temperature will gradually rise again to about 25 degrees Celsius. In the face of hot and cold weather, adults, children and elders should pay attention to adding more clothes, avoiding cold and raw food, and paying attention to health care in order to reduce the risk of catching a cold.
It was cold outside, but on Thursday, it was warm and fuzzy in the garden of Yanhee because we were surrounded by the enthusiasm of the adults and children. On the Thanksgiving Day, we gathered together, sang, danced, enjoyed the food, and had an unforgettable Thanksgiving Day.
Grandma Boyo said, "This is my favorite part of the program, it's a great feeling, thank you, you don't get to see this in a lot of gardens".
Although Thanksgiving is a foreign holiday, it is organized because it is meaningful and we hope to cultivate children's gratitude and thankfulness at a young age and to implement it in their lives.
Thanksgiving in the United States is like New Year's Eve in Taiwan, because it is a time for the American pioneers to honor God's leading them across the seas from the European continent to the Americas to start their new lives.
What about Thanksgiving in Taiwan? There is no such atmosphere, except for churches, people don't celebrate Thanksgiving, and they don't know there is a Thanksgiving. I think one of the reasons for this is that there is no business opportunity for business people, unlike Halloween, so it is not hyped up and the average person is not celebrating Thanksgiving.
Although Taiwan is not like the United States, where for the sake of freedom of worship, they took the Mayflower ship to the American continent and built a home from scratch, they keep coming back to remind themselves to be thankful in response to God's leading.
Thanksgiving is a reminder to be thankful all the time, not just on Thanksgiving.
We have been organizing Thanksgiving activities for many years, but in the past three to four years, we have organized a fall tour on Thanksgiving Day. This year, we organized Thanksgiving celebration again, and it felt very different.
During the preparation process, teachers led the children step by step into the door of gratitude; participated in the discharge and packing of tables and chairs to experience the hardworking and busy workers; learned the origin and meaning of Thanksgiving; and enjoyed the gourmet meal to learn the etiquette of dining.
Let children learn to be thankful in their lives - to God who created everything in the universe, to parents who love me, to teachers and teachers in the school, and to a group of people in the community who quietly contribute themselves; and to people living in different worlds who care for them, so that the heart of thankfulness will spread its roots, sprout, and grow stronger in their hearts, in you, in me, in the community, and in every corner of the world.
I wish you all a wonderful holiday.
