From the Director - Opening a book is opening a world.

Prof. Hong Lan, an expert in neuroscience, said that children in the 21st century should have humanistic qualities and creativity, and creativity cannot be created out of nothing, but requires a broad background knowledge, which comes from reading. Education is the foundation of a nation, and reading is the foundation of education. Through the written word, we can transcend the limitations of time and space, talk to anyone, and acquire their wisdom. This is how the accumulation of knowledge is formed, hence the Western proverb, "The fight is over".

Brain and Reading

Learning to read involves connecting two areas of the brain: one is the object recognition system and the other is the language circuit. In cognitive neuroscientist Stanislaus Deehan's masterpiece, The Brain and Reading, he analyzes how children learn to read. Deehan's masterpiece, The Brain and Reading, analyzes how a child's growing up years are slowly transformed into an adult's reading network. The following is an excerpt to give readers a sneak peek. I used to think that babies' view of the world was "a mess," that their brains hadn't developed yet, that they were almost "a mess," and that they had no idea how to read.

A Word from the Principal - Outdoor Learning Outside the Campus

Teaching outside of school is the most enjoyable thing for children. In addition to spring and fall trips, if there is a nearby attraction or store that is suitable for teaching, we will make arrangements to visit it in accordance with the theme of teaching. Before deciding on a visit, the teacher will go on a scouting trip and make contact with both parties to confirm the availability of the visit. It may seem like a simple task to contact the teachers for a visit, but in fact, they need to put in some effort to prepare for the visit, such as the purpose of the visit, the age of the children, the proximity of the location, the size of the space, the suitability of the content, the opening hours, and the time of the day.

A Message from the Director - Doing Green Things in Small Places

The sound of children singing is coming from the square in front of the gate. If you listen carefully, it's the garbage truck's song: "Take out the garbage quickly, take out the garbage in three different categories; take out the garbage quickly, take out the garbage quickly, take out the garbage in three different categories, take out the garbage in three different categories, take out the garbage in three different categories, take out the garbage in three different categories, what are the categories? What are the three categories? Resource waste, general waste and food waste .....". Curious to find out more, it turned out that the children of the Best family had made three garbage trucks and were playing with them in groups, matching the song. Parenting] The Health Hazards of Air Pollution

In recent years, people have become more and more concerned about environmental pollution, and air pollution is one of them. According to the World Health Organization, in 2012, a total of 7 million people around the world died due to air pollution. Although people know that air pollution can cause lung and respiratory diseases, they do not know that it is closely related to heart disease and cancer. Prof. Jen Chang-kuen of the Institute of Occupational Medicine and Industrial Hygiene at the University of Taiwan has been studying the effects of air pollution on the human body for many years.

Message from the Director - Happy New Year 2019

Happy New Year! It's the beginning of another year. Today is Friday, January 4, the third day of work and school in the new year, and tomorrow is a holiday weekend. Time passes too quickly. When I was young, I looked forward to New Year's Eve, I always felt that time passed very slowly and hoped to grow up quickly; when I grew up, I felt that time flies like an arrow, and a year would pass by in a flash, especially the older I got, the more I felt that the years were mercilessly marking my face with traces. For those who are diligent, they are the masters of time; for those who are not, they are the masters of time.

Memories are a gift that lasts a lifetime.

Memories are everything! This is a profound statement that I deeply share. If parents can give their children a generous gift, I would recommend the matter of memories, which I strongly believe are better than achievements. I believe that memories are better than accomplishments. People grow old, and once they reach the age of 70 or 80, all that is left are the memories that have been accumulated over the years, some of which are their own, and some of which have been shared with their children, and if they don't put some of these worthwhile memories in a book of memories, they will not be found in the future. I like what Zen Master Nissho says
