The 31st Summer Olympic Games, or Rio Olympics for short, was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to 21, with a total of 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) taking part in the event, a record high. The events include: archery, equestrian, triathlon, taekwondo, track and field, tennis, badminton, rugby, table tennis, handball, water polo, soccer, basketball, volleyball, golf, hockey, sailing, gymnastics, swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, cycling, wrestling, and softball.
