A Word from the Director - The Myth of "No. 1

"Mandy, I want to drink water, but xxx won't move away, so I can't drink!" The child asked me for help, and I went to find out that the first child in line had finished drinking water and insisted that it was his place to stand, unwilling to move his feet and blocking the other children's line of movement to drink water. Nowadays, fewer children are born, and there are many single children. Two parents or four parents together with elders take care of a baby, which invariably leads to excessive protection, care and accommodation, and develops a child who will not share his or her life.

"Parenting" If you love your children, take them to exercise.

There was a news story a while back about how many 6-month-olds are still unable to crawl on their bellies because their parents are carrying them too much and protecting them too much. This news reminds me of the trend of increasing number of under-exercised children at the Shun Yee Experimental Nursery School, which was revealed by its director, Ms. Lin Yihong. The most obvious reaction of these children is that they are afraid of climbing stairs, or they are unable to climb stairs alternately with their feet (they can only climb one space at a time); some of them go up the stairs smoothly, but they are very timid in descending the stairs.
