In a society where people live together, the purpose of punishment is to prevent each other from violating the respect that should be shown to each other. Such respect reveals harmony in the family and is the foundation of safety in society. Therefore, if a child does not have a deeper understanding of the meaning of "relationships," he or she will not be punished.
